Micro Terrarium Making

Build a self-contained world in glass, perfectly sized for the desk or home counter. Great for groups or as an in-lobby pop-up.

The Experience

We guide tenants through layering drainage, soil, moss, and miniature plants inside a glass container. Each terrarium becomes a small living object for a desk or shelf, with care instructions included.

Why It Works

  • Layering process is meditative and satisfying.
  • Living piece keeps the activation visible for months.
  • Small-group format encourages natural conversation.

Additional Inspiration

  • Offer two vessel styles — a sealed moss globe and an open desert scene — so participants choose their own aesthetic.
  • Add tiny figurines, colored sand, and stones so each terrarium becomes a miniature landscape with a story.
  • Run a winter 'bring one as a gift' edition with wrapping materials, turning the workshop into holiday preparation.
